John grew up in the Shropshire countryside where he drew subjects as
diverse as birds, horses and cars. Mixing technical drawing with art he
went on to train as a technical illustrator at Bournemouth College of Art
for four years.

He was published whilst at college and his first job was as an
information graphic artist on the Sunday Times newspaper.
Two years later he became the deputy head of graphics on The Times.
After ten years at The Times he was offered the opportunity to head up
his own department at the Sunday Express and then the overall head of
graphics on the Express titles. A move to the Daily Mail followed in
2001, where he still works.

His freelance clients have included; The Ford Rally Team, Jordan GP, CAR
Magazine, MotorCycleNews, Maranello Concessionaires (Ferrari UK),
Cable & Wireless World Record attempts, Walker Books, Harper Collins,
Macmillan Publishing and McLaren Cars.

John only started painting in oils and acrylics in 2004, having moved to
the Cotswolds from London he found his new surroundings an
inspiration to paint as a way of relaxing after the tight deadlines of
working in London.

Please do not hesitate to contact John about his work. If you have any
questions I will endeavour to help you or try and find somebody who can.
